Tips för ett hälsosammare julbord

Tips for a healthier christmas table

Making the Christmas table healthier can be a challenge, but there are several ways to make it more balanced and nutritious. Here are some tips for a healthier Christmas table:

  1. Add different types of vegetables, such as lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots, and bell pepper. These provide color, flavor, and lots of nutrients.
  2. Reduce the amount of sugar and fat in sauces and dressings. You can use yogurt or flavored oils instead of heavy cream-based sauces.
  3. Add protein-rich dishes such as fish, beans, lentils, or quinoa to increase the feeling of fullness and support muscle health.
  4. Offer healthy sides such as a fresh fruit or berry salad, or serve fruit as dessert instead of sugary pastries. You can, among other things, make Cookies with oats, banana, and freeze-dried mango, you can find the recipe here!
  5. By making your own dishes, you can have control over the ingredients and make healthier choices.
  6. Use cinnamon as the flavoring, as cinnamon is rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, and also has anti-inflammatory properties! Read more here about its health benefits here!
  7. Bake a delicious healthy dessert with some of our superfoods! For example Chocolate fudge with Belly Boost och Saffron sticky cake with Berry Beautiful.
